Across the work we’ve done on management talent in tech and manufacturing, it’s become clear that we need a two-track approach: On one hand we need to do a better job forming and shaping the next generation of growth executives through mentorship and programming such as what the Lazaridis Institute has put forward. This, however, will take time to impact the ecosystem. The more immediate means of super-charging Canada’s innovation ecosystem is by liberalizing immigration with respect to low-risk executive roles.
