I was recently asked to speak to the membership of the Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce on Canada’s place in the global innovation economy. The key thrust is a general decline in both inputs and outputs, and a dramatic need to refocus policy on high-growth firms (or scaleups) and the talent they need to compete.
