DEEP Centre co-founder Dan Herman was recently in Guangzhou, China for the 15th Biennial Conference of Associations for Canadian Studies in China. Hosted at the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS), the theme of the conference was “Canadian Internal and External affairs after the Financial CrisisCurrent Situation, Problems and Prospects.

Dan participated in a symposium on Canadian public policy and presented recent research on dynamics in Canadian trade policy. His work focuses on the role of sub-national government in international trade negotiations, as well as the evolving nature of Canadian public opinion on international trade.
